The entire garden is divided into 6 sections – New Garden, Lower Garden, Italian Garden, Fountain Terrace, Conservatory and Nurseries. The Lower Garden consists of the entrance, lawn and a fern house. You can see the Indian Map, completely made of herbs of various hues and shades. The New Garden consists of a Rose Garden and Pond filled with aquatic plants. You can also see the carpet emblems of the state and nation here. As you climb upwards from the New Garden, you step into the Italian Garden. This garden got its name as this region was completely laid out by Italian prisoners of the First World War. The Conservatory was added to the Garden in 1912. You will get to see numerous flowering plants here. Walk a little East away from the Conservatory, and you will see a Bog garden with plenty of marsh loving plants. If you want to buy some saplings or seeds, then heed to the Nurseries.
As you can see, there are plenty of beautiful locations for you to take your couple shot. If you want formal portraits, you can hire the services of the local photographers to do it for you. They give you prints in just a few hours. These photos will be great souvenirs of your honeymoon trip in Ooty.
